Mr. Eazi Releases “Dance Pon Me,” the Ultimate Detty Party Anthem for December
Mr. Eazi’s comeback for Detty December includes the catchy afro-meets-dancehall hit single and music video “Dance Pon Me,” which is perfect for dance floors, late nights, and special December moments. The new tune is the most recent release off his upcoming dancehall-inspired mixtape on Mixpak, which comes after “Sekkle & Bop,” his 2021 collaboration with Popcaan.
Produced by Dre Skull (Popcaan, Burna Boy, Vybz Kartel) and Cadenza (Jorja Smith, Beyoncé, Doja Cat), “Dance Pon Me” is a seductive, dance-forward earworm with a killer singalong hook and a relaxed dembow beat. Whether it’s December or not, it’s designed for mobility. Mr. Eazi challenges you to try to remain still.

The song, which was written by Oliver Rodigan, Andrew Hershey, Marlon Roudette, and Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, embodies the Afro-diaspora’s carefree spirit at its happiest. “Dance Pon Me” draws into the common beat of Africa, where music, freedom, and joy converge, from Lagos to Accra, Nairobi to London.
The greatest events in culture have long been accompanied by the music of Mr. Eazi, a Grammy Award-winning performer and creative powerhouse. His music has become synonymous with celebration, from creating Banku Music and delivering worldwide songs like “Skin Tight” and “Leg Over,” to playing at Coachella and organizing nightlife events with Choplife Soundsystem and Detty Rave. A love letter to his original followers and the early characteristic sound that initially earned him a cult favorite, Mr. Eazi’s new EP MAISON ROUGE, released in 2025, also serves as a return to his Banku Music roots.
Mr. Eazi adds “Dance Pon Me,” an anthem for DJs, partygoers, and anyone prepared to dance through the end of the year, to his illustrious discography.
