Elon Musk makes history as net worth reaches $638 billion
Elon Musk has increased the wealth gap between himself and other global billionaires by becoming the first person in history to earn $638 billion.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI), Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is now the first individual in history to reach a net worth of $638 billion.
The American millionaire who was born in South Africa and the other richest people in the world are significantly different, according to index data. Within a year after December 2024, Musk’s wealth increased by 42.7%, indicating significant gains across all of his company ventures.
With a net worth of $638 billion, Musk’s wealth is more than twice that of Larry Page, who comes in second on the index with $265 billion—a difference of almost 140.75%. Jeff Bezos and Sergey Brin, both worth $246 billion, are in third and fourth place, respectively.
Mark Zuckerberg and Bernard Arnault are in sixth and seventh place, respectively, with $229 billion and $202 billion, while Larry Ellison is in fifth place with $238 billion. Warren Buffett ($152 billion), Jensen Huang ($153 billion), and Steve Ballmer ($166 billion) round out the top ten.
In December 2024, Musk became the first person to surpass $400 billion, surpassing Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.
In addition to Tesla, Musk founded the artificial intelligence startup xAI. To increase his presence in the technology and artificial intelligence fields, he recently announced the launch of Grokipedia, an online encyclopedia intended to compete with Wikipedia.
