Snoop Dogg will serve as Team USA’s honorary coach at the 2026 Winter Olympics
Snoop Dogg, who brings humor, inspiration, and star power to the 2026 Winter Olympics, has been named the honorary coach of Team USA.
Snoop Dogg, the legendary American rapper, has been named a “honorary coach” for Team USA in preparation for the Winter Olympics in Italy next year. The announcement was verified on Thursday by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), which stated that the 54-year-old will volunteer to support and honor American athletes outside of competition arenas.
Snoop Dogg’s highly acclaimed appearance at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, where he performed during the Los Angeles 2028 handover ceremony and acted as NBC’s special correspondent, preceded his appointment. He was a notable presence at the Games because of his charm, humor, and passion for athletics.
The rapper, commonly known as “Coach Snoop” for the new position, stated, “Team USA athletes are the real stars – I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines.”
As Team USA gets ready for the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina from February 6–22, Snoop Dogg will provide his “signature humour and heart,” according to the USOPC.
His passion for the Olympic and Paralympic movement is “contagious,” according to USOPC chief executive Sarah Hirshland, who also noted that his presence will give athletes an additional boost of enthusiasm and optimism.
Snoop Dogg’s background in sports extends beyond his showbiz career. In order to provide inner-city kids with the chance to play American football in large stadiums across the country, he established the Snoop Youth Football League in 2005. Ever since, the program has fostered community values and athletic potential.
“This team embodies the best of what sport can be: talent, heart, and hustle,” Snoop Dogg remarked in reference to his new Olympic role. I’ll have won if I can add a bit more love and inspiration to that.
As Team USA prepares for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Snoop Dogg’s participation is expected to add a lively blend of amusement, support, and cultural flair to the biggest athletic arena in the world.
