Jimmy Kimmel has signed a new contract with ABC to continue airing until May 2027

The 58-year-old late-night host has disclosed that he has extended his contract with ABC by one year, which was originally scheduled to expire in May 2026.

“I am pleased to announce another no-talent year!” was all he posted on Instagram.

Just two days after US President Donald Trump made another jab at the TV personality over the weekend, the news was made on Monday, December 8.

“I’ve watched some of the people that host, Jimmy Kimmel was horrible,” Trump stated during his remarks at the 48th Kennedy Center Honors Medallion Reception. I don’t think I should be president if I can’t outperform Jimmy Kimmel in terms of skill.

Although he honored David Letterman in 2012, Kimmel has never held the esteemed event.

The two had previously been at odds when Trump boasted when Jimmy Kimmel Live! was canceled in September due to comments the presenter had made over Charlie Kirk’s murder.

At the time, Trump said on his Truth Social platform: “Excellent News for America: The Jimmy Kimmel Show’s struggling ratings have been canceled.

“We applaud ABC for having the guts to take the necessary action at last. If it’s possible, Kimmel’s ratings are worse than Colbert’s, yet he has absolutely no talent.

The president questioned why ABC wanted “someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99 percent positive Democrat GARBAGE” after the show’s return was confirmed less than a week later.

Kimmel said to the world leader this month, “I’ll go when you go.”

Jimmy acknowledged back in October that he wasn’t sure if he would sign an extension with ABC.

“I often answer that question, and then I do the opposite of what I said,” he said to Bloomberg.

“I previously stated that this would be similar to my other three contracts. Because it annoys my employees, I’ve learnt to keep quiet.

“It’s best if I decide what I want to do.”
