Boris Johnson Supports Investment Opportunities and Says Nigeria Is Safe
Former prime minister of the United Kingdom urges investors to investigate Nigeria’s expanding economic potential while praising security and the rule of law.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stated that Nigeria is safe, despite the popular belief that the country is experiencing rampant instability.
He made the announcement during the maiden economic summit hosted by Governor Hope Uzodimma in Owerri, Imo State, on Thursday.
He claimed that there was no indication that Nigeria was dangerous from the moment he landed in Lagos till he spent the night in a hotel and then traveled to Owerri.
Johnson revealed that those who were telling him that there was a lot of instability in Nigeria nearly convinced him not to travel there for the Imo Economic Summit.
“Well, I told them I would go anyhow, and I’m secure here. “The streets are safe, and I feel completely safe,” he remarked.
A nation that respects the rule of law and has relative security is suitable for investment, the former UK leader said, adding that he has learned that Nigeria likewise upholds the rule of law.
He praised Governor Uzodimma for his extensive road infrastructure, his emphasis on sustainable electricity, and his digital empowerment of human resources, according to a statement released on Friday.
Since society will soon rely on artificial intelligence to overhaul its economy, he said that empowering young people digitally was the way to go.
By maximizing the state’s economic potential, he characterized Uzodimma as a forward-thinking, transformative leader.
