Tristar and SSFF have agreed to work together for another year
In a notable advancement for local sports, Tristar, a prominent company dedicated to community development, signed an agreement on November 1, 2024, to continue its support for the South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) for an additional year. The collaboration involves a $250,000 investment intended for the national team’s head coach, supplementary support staff, and necessary training kits for the national football team.
Mr. Francis Amin, President of SSFF, conveyed sincere appreciation for Tristar’s continuous support, emphasizing the significance of partnership between the private sector and sports organizations. “We value Tristar’s support, which showcases their dedication to advancing football in South Sudan. Amin stated, “Together, we will enhance our national team and cultivate a passion for the game among our youth.”
Mr. Eugene Mayne, the CEO of Tristar, highlighted the essential function of sports in bringing communities together and inspiring young people. “Sports transcends mere competition; it serves as a powerful force that brings our youth together, keeping them involved and steering them clear of detrimental influences such as crime and drugs,” he stated. Mayne also encouraged other businesses to partner with Tristar in supporting local sports, highlighting the shared duty of the private sector in fostering talent and community spirit.
In addition to football, Tristar’s assistance encompasses a range of community initiatives. Since 2009, the company has committed to education by funding computer labs and supplying educational resources to schools like Gabat Primary School and Yapa Secondary School, in addition to infrastructure projects that encompass classrooms and dormitories. The company has made significant progress in healthcare by outfitting local hospitals with solar lights and supplying vital amenities such as boreholes and hand pumps.
In conclusion, Mr. Mayne extended his best wishes to the SSFF leadership and the coaching staff, hoping for success for the national team, referred to as the Bright Stars, in their upcoming endeavors. “We will persist in our dedication to community development, as we are firm believers in empowering our youth through sports and education,” Mayne affirmed.
With Tristar and SSFF entering into this renewed partnership, the future of football in South Sudan seems set for expansion, fueled by a common vision of progress and togetherness.
