Rwanda and Cambodia have signed two agreements to enhance their bilateral relations

Rwanda and Cambodia have signed two deals that will help them work together more.

In Rwanda on November 18, Prime Minister Justin Nsengiyumva met with Prak Sokhonn, who is the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Cambodia. This is where the agreement was signed.

At the end of their meeting, they signed a memorandum of understanding for bilateral consultations and a plan for people with foreign or service passports to be able to visit without a visa.

Cambodia is in Southeast Asia. It shares borders with Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. People love it for its beautiful beaches and islands, lush scenery, unique Khmer food, and Phnom Penh, the capital city, which has a mix of colonial and modern architecture.

The 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie will take place in Kigali from November 19th to 20th. Nsengiyumva and Sokhonn also talked about it. In addition, the Prime Minister wished Cambodia luck as it gets ready to lead the Francophonie bloc.

Rwanda and Cambodia share a dark past of genocide, which is a strong link between the two countries.

Cambodia was hit by the Khmer Rouge’s slaughter in the late 1970s, and Rwanda was hit by the slaughter against the Tutsi in 1994.
