Steve Bannon says Trump will be re-elected in 2028
Steve Bannon, the former chief strategist of the White House, asserts that America “needs” Trump to return to office for a third term in 2028.
Steve Bannon, a former White House strategist and right-wing commentator, has asserted that US President Donald Trump will reclaim power for a “third term” in 2028, contending that America “needs him to finish what we started.”
During an interview in Washington, DC, with The Economist editor-in-chief Zanny Minton Beddoes and deputy editor Ed Carr, Bannon asserted that Trump would overcome political challenges and make a comeback to the White House, despite the constitutional limitations imposed by the 22nd Amendment, which restricts presidents to two terms.
“He is set to secure a third term, so Trump 28.” Bannon asserted, “Trump will be president in 28, and people should just come to terms with that.” “What is the significance of the 22nd Amendment?” There are many different alternatives. When the moment is right, we will present the details of the plan, but rest assured, there is a plan in place.
Bannon, a key figure in the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, portrayed Trump as a leader chosen by divine will, whose influence in American politics goes beyond traditional boundaries. “Trump serves as a means—he’s a means of divine providence.” He is a tool. He has his flaws. “He’s not churchy, nor particularly religious, yet he serves as an instrument of divine will,” he stated. “We require his presence for at least one more term, correct?” He will achieve that in 28.
Minton Beddoes questioned Bannon about the potential implications of advocating for another Trump presidency on the Constitution. “You will be compromising the essence of that amendment, even if you manage to circumvent it,” she contended.
Bannon asserted that a third Trump term would embody the will of the American people, rather than contradict it. “If the American people, utilizing the mechanisms at our disposal, were to reinstate Trump in office, would that mean the American people are disregarding the Constitution?” he inquired. “Could that be considered tearing it up?” Would the citizens of America be acting contrary to the essence of the Constitution, ma’am? I believe otherwise.
Bannon rejected the notion that Trump’s possible comeback would equate to a dictatorship. “Trump is merely engaged in a continuous series of negotiations to maintain progress, constantly making trade-offs,” he stated, dismissing claims of authoritarian motives.
Even when faced with challenges regarding apparent contradictions in his position, especially after declaring the Constitution to be “fit for purpose,” Bannon stood firm in his belief that Trump’s leadership is crucial for the future of America. “The sole path for President Trump to secure victory in 2028 and maintain his position is through the support of the American populace. “The will of the American people is what the Constitution embodies,” he stated.
Bannon stated, “We must complete what we began.”
