Around two in the morning on Saturday, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s office reported receiving a call requesting action along with complete details regarding his residence.

Alex’s return home is yet unknown, but according to sources, the length of the examination varies based on the severity of the situation; some patients may be detained for up to 72 hours.

The Baker Act is a mental health statute that is in effect in Florida, according to TMZ. It allows law enforcement or mental health professionals to propose detainment for anyone who is thought to pose a risk to themselves or others. 

In order to determine whether someone is experiencing mental health issues without receiving treatment, the detention permits an involuntary mental evaluation.
