Antonio Brown is fighting back against a charge of attempted murder

Antonio Brown and his legal team are asserting a self-defense argument in his attempted murder case.

The legal team representing the NFL wide receiver is diligently working to prevent him from facing serious consequences after he reportedly discharged two shots at a man after a boxing event in Miami.

Antonio Brown has recently been extradited from the United Arab Emirates and is currently in New Jersey, awaiting his transfer to South Florida for trial.

Antonio Brown’s representative is fervently committed to upholding his reputation.

Mark Eiglarsh, the attorney for the wide receiver, clarified prior to the trial that the incident at the event was a matter of self-defense. He maintained that his client was justified in not pleading guilty to the charge of 2nd degree attempted murder.

“The actions he was compelled to undertake were entirely in self-defense against the purported victim’s aggressive conduct,” Eiglarsh clarified, noting that he accepted the case because he fervently believed in Brown’s defense.

The attorney asserted that Brown was assaulted that night and responded within his legal rights to safeguard himself from someone who had previously perpetrated criminal acts against him.

“It is an honor to represent him, and I am committed to making sure that justice prevails,” Eiglarsh stated to TMZ while entering a not-guilty plea for Brown.

If Brown receives a guilty verdict from the judge at the conclusion of his trial, he is likely to face a 15-year prison sentence as punishment for the attempted murder.

Inside the Athlete’s Extradition from the United Arab Emirates

The NFL star reportedly sought to escape justice in the United States by concealing himself in Dubai. However, his fortune changed when he was detained overseas and ultimately transferred to federal agents from America.

The Blast confirmed that the agents subsequently took him to New York for handover to local authorities in Florida, where the crime took place.

Brown is set to confront a charge of attempted second-degree murder involving a deadly weapon and will be detained at the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections upon his arrival in Florida.

This marks Brown’s previous encounter with legal issues; in 2023, he faced arrest in Florida for failing to pay $30,000 in child support to his former partner, Wiltrice Jackson. In 2022, he was declared wanted for domestic battery; however, the case was subsequently dropped.

His NFL journey faced a significant setback when he took off his jersey during a game against the New York Jets, marking his departure from the Buccaneers.

Within the Florida Brawl

The Blast reported that the athlete was connected to an attempted murder case, leading Miami-Dade authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest. In the clip, Brown allegedly fired gunshots during a confrontation, causing chaos in the area.

Witnesses at the scene reported that a confrontation erupted when a group of men confronted Brown regarding a piece of jewelry. The subsequent phase involved Brown engaging in a confrontation with this group, culminating in his departure from the scene armed and amidst the echoes of gunfire.

A man named Zül-Qarnaįn, who was part of the group, asserted that their meeting with Brown was not intended to rob him. However, Brown countered this claim, stating that he had acted solely in self-defense.

The father of seven was apprehended for failing to make child support payments.

Two years ago, the athlete, who has not participated in the NFL since 2021, was arrested and incarcerated due to his failure to meet his child support obligations. Wiltrice Jackson, the mother of Brown’s child, disclosed to The Blast that the former NFL player has an outstanding balance of more than $30,000 in child support payments.

Jackson expressed her desire for him to confront the consequences of the law, as Brown had long behaved as though he were immune to its reach. In August 2023, Jackson’s prayer was answered, resulting in an order for his arrest due to unpaid child support obligations.

The arrest occurred a year after Brown gained widespread attention for his inappropriate behavior towards a woman in an outdoor pool in Dubai. In the clip, the athlete was observed pushing his backside into a fellow swimmer’s face and even exposing himself while in the water.

The situation escalated into increasingly unacceptable behavior, leading to Brown being escorted out of the hotel after the event.
