China lifts restrictions on exporting antimony, germanium, and gallium to the US
China’s commerce ministry announced on Sunday that it had lifted a ban on licensing exports of “dual-use items” to the United States that involve gallium, germanium, antimony, and super-hard minerals.
According to a statement from the ministry, the suspension will be in place from Sunday until November 27, 2026.
The prohibition was declared by the ministry in December 2024.
Alongside the announcement of the prohibition, the ministry also suspended the more stringent end-user and end-use purpose checks for dual-use graphite exports to the United States.
Other export restrictions put in place on October 9—such as further restrictions on specific rare earth and lithium battery materials—were lifted, China said on Friday.
Prior to this, President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump of the United States had decided to lower tariffs and put a one-year halt to other trade measures.
