Germany is expected to authorize defense equipment purchases totaling over $3.47 billion, including 20 light combat helicopters from Airbus SE (AIR.PA), according to a government document cited by Bloomberg News on Saturday.

According to the report, lawmakers were expected to approve a significant defense spending package on Wednesday during a meeting held behind closed doors. The package also includes a deal worth approximately 1 billion euros with Hensoldt AG (HAGG.DE) and Theon International (THEON.AS) for 100,000 night vision devices.

A German defense ministry official chose not to respond to the report.
