Osimhen becomes the leading goalscorer in the Champions League after scoring a hat-trick

Victor Osimhen leads this season’s UEFA Champions League goals with six goals after scoring three against Ajax.

Galatasaray trounced Ajax 3-0 in their UEFA Champions League match at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday, with Victor Osimhen scoring all three goals.

In the 59th minute, the 26-year-old attacker headed home a floating cross from Leroy Sane after slipping past the Ajax defense.

Osimhen then completed his first-ever UCL hat-trick by converting two penalty kicks in ten minutes.

The goals put him at the top of the goalscorer column and bring his total in the UCL this season to six. Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane are all on five goals.

In his last two UCL games, the Super Eagles striker had scored one goal against Liverpool and two more against Bodo/Glimt.

With 25 goals, Osimhen also broke Obafemi Martins’ 23-goal record to become the highest-scoring Nigerian in all UEFA club competitions.

In other games, Manchester City defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-1, Newcastle United defeated Athletic Club de Bilbao 2-0, Chelsea settled for a 2-2 draw with Qarabag, Barcelona drew 3-3 with Club Brugge, and Inter Milan defeated Kairat FC 2-1.
