CAF AWARDS CEREMONY: Rabat is confirmed as the host city for 2025 by CAF

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has formally declared that the 2025 CAF Awards, which honor Africa’s best football players, coaches, and teams, would be held in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

The esteemed ceremony is set to begin at a location to be announced at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT/20:00 Cairo time), according to CAF.

The yearly awards honor individuals whose exceptional performance for club and country has distinguished them over the last year and acknowledge the continent’s top performers in a variety of categories.

The following are some of the categories up for contest:

CAF African Player of the Year (Men and Women)

CAF Coach of the Year (Men and Women)

National Team of the Year (Men and Women)

Club of the Year (Men and Women)

CAF Young Player of the Year

The top player nominations for both the men’s and women’s divisions have already been announced, according to CAF, paving the way for yet another thrilling competition for the highest individual honors on the continent.

Nigeria has dominated the men’s award in recent years, with Victor Osimhen winning the prize in 2023 and Ademola Lookman winning the championship in 2024.

Before them, Mohamed Salah of Egypt received the honor in 2018 and Sadio Mané of Senegal in 2022 and 2019.

Barbra Banda of Zambia won the women’s division title in 2024, ending Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria’s three-time victory streak in 2023, 2022, and 2019.

Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa last won the title in 2018.

African football is expected to have another spectacular evening at the event in Morocco, showing the continent’s talent, development, and influence on a global scale.
