Antonio Brown Extradited from Dubai Months After Allegedly Firing Shots at Miami Fight Night
Antonio Brown, a former NFL star who was extradited from Dubai earlier this week, is back in the United States and under arrest.
After an alleged altercation during a boxing event in Miami back in May, the 37-year-old athlete is now facing one count of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon. According to investigators, Brown got into a heated argument with another guy at the event, which was attended by several influential people. Witnesses said that two shots were fired after Brown allegedly confronted the man outside after stealing a firearm from a security guard. One of the bullets, according to Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, the accused victim, grazed his neck.
“I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” Brown responded on social media in an attempt to protect himself. “In contrast to some videos that are going around, police briefly held me until they heard my side of the story and then released me,” he continued. That evening, I returned home without being detained.
Before releasing Brown to local law enforcement, federal officials escorted him to the New York region. It is anticipated that he will be taken to South Florida, the scene of the crime.
Brown might spend up to 15 years behind bars if found guilty.
