People Magazine Names Jonathan Bailey of Wicked the Sexiest Man Alive
Jonathan Bailey, who was crowned the Sexiest Man Alive 2025 by PEOPLE magazine, is “incredibly flattered.”
The 37-year-old Wicked star appeared for a cover photo on a beach in his home country of the United Kingdom after being crowned the hunkiest male celebrity of the year by the magazine. Jonathan acknowledges that it was difficult to keep the big news under wraps.
He said to PEOPLE: “It’s a great honor. Of course, I am deeply flattered. It’s also utterly ridiculous. I’m really eager for some friends and family to learn about it because it’s been a secret.

“I feel so fortunate,” he continued. Regardless of one’s identity or background, life is a journey for everyone. It just involves making sure that you are glancing left and right while riding the ride to ensure that everyone is okay. Additionally, if they require it, give them a high five as you go.
While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jonathan also joked with the presenter about his new title as Sexiest Man Alive, saying, “It’s an honor of a lifetime.” Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to Jimmy for declining so that I could be here.
The actor continued by saying that this is a significant departure from how he began the year, when he was featured in a London production of Richard II by William Shakespeare.
He stated: “I was doing Shakespeare’s Richard II at the start of the year; in case you didn’t know, it’s not a comedy.
At the time of the news, I was in the zone. Being asked into this makes you a little crazy, and the only thing more insane than doing Richard II is being invited.
And in 2025, I’m a little overjoyed that People Magazine has asked someone to receive this accolade for truly appreciating the worth of a gorgeous man.
Jonathan said, “I f****** hope so!” when asked if he believes that going forward, people will approach him differently.
John Krasinski, who won the title of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2024, is replaced by Jonathan. Other past honorees include David Beckham, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, Michael B. Jordan, and Bradley Cooper.
