Kenya Removed More Than 500,000 Videos in the Second Quarter of 2025, Per the TikTok Community Guidelines Report

TikTok has demonstrated its continued dedication to establishing a secure online environment for its users with the release of its Quarter 2 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report (CGER). In order to provide its global community with a great experience, TikTok continues to take proactive measures to identify and remove content that violates its Community Guidelines. These measures are detailed in the report, which includes data from April to June 2025.

In Kenya, 592,037 videos were taken down from the platform between April and June 2025 due to violations of the Community Guidelines. Remarkably, 96.3% of these were taken down within 24 hours of being posted, and 92.9% were taken down before they were viewed.

This initiative is in line with TikTok’s global moderation impact, as during the same quarter, over 189 million videos—or just 0.7% of all uploaded content—were removed globally. 163.9 million films were automatically removed by AI-driven moderation systems, 99.1% of these removals were identified proactively, and 94.4% were removed within 24 hours. This quarter, TikTok eliminated 76,991,660 fraudulent accounts in addition to 25,904,708 accounts that were thought to be under the age of 13 in an effort to preserve the platform’s integrity.

TikTok makes it possible to remove content that breaches its Community Guidelines more quickly and reliably by combining the knowledge of thousands of trust and safety experts with cutting-edge automated moderation technology. This strategy is essential for reducing the negative impacts of hate speech, false information, and other offensive materials on the platform.

TikTok LIVE: Enhancing Safety in Real Time

In order to enforce our LIVE monetization principles, we are providing data about our actions for the first time. These rules discourage streams that violate them and assist in rewarding video producers who provide high-caliber, genuine, and safe content. We demonetized 1,040,356 LIVE creators and issued warnings to 2,321,813 LIVE sessions in the second quarter of 2025 for breaking our LIVE monetization policies.

When material may violate LIVE monetisation regulations, warnings provide creators the chance to be informed so they can make the required adjustments.

TikTok Promotes Reporting Within Apps

TikTok actively encourages its community to report any accounts, comments, or content that seem to go against the site’s in-app guidelines in order to bolster efforts to ensure safety on the platform. By collaborating with our community, TikTok is creating a secure online environment that allows people to share life-enriching experiences and a flourishing society.
