Kagame attending the UN social development meeting in Doha

President Paul Kagame arrived in Doha, Qatar, for the Second World Summit for Social Development on Monday, November 3.

Under the aegis of the UN General Assembly, heads of state and government convene at the high-level gathering.

With the majority of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) unlikely to be met by 2030, the UN says the two-day summit, which takes place from November 3–4, comes at a crucial time.

The goal of this year’s conference is to plan a more coordinated response to enduring disparities and to reaffirm the world’s commitment to social development.

It is anticipated that discussions in Doha would center on bridging social protection gaps, increasing access to decent jobs, and bolstering multilateral collaboration in order to advance resilient and inclusive societies.

The inauguration ceremony will be followed by a speech by President Kagame, according to a statement from Village Urugwiro.
