Zelensky Meets King Charles Before London Discusses Ukraine Aid With Starmer And European Leaders
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, meets King Charles before going to important security talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and other European leaders.
This is the third time this year that King Charles and President Volodymyr Zelensky have met. They will meet in Windsor.
When the meeting is over, Zelensky will go to London to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street for a meeting of European leaders called the “coalition of the willing.”
Many people think that the talks will be mostly about giving Ukraine more military aid, especially long-range weapons. After the recent attack on a Russian chemical plant by Ukraine using British-made Storm Shadow missiles, Starmer is said to be planning to ask European partners to do more to help.
At the same time that the talks started, US President Donald Trump put new sanctions on two of Russia’s biggest oil companies to try to get them to negotiate again.
Trump also canceled a meeting he had planned with Russian President Vladimir Putin because he wouldn’t give Ukraine long-range Tomahawk weapons. It’s always a good time when I talk to Vladimir, but our talks never go anywhere, Trump said.
