Trump refutes claims that the US is stationing bombers close to Venezuela
Trump acknowledges that Washington is “unhappy” with Caracas but has disputed allegations that the US flew aircraft close to Venezuela, calling them “false.”
US President Donald Trump has disputed reports stating that the United States deployed B-1 bombers near Venezuela to boost military pressure on the South American nation.
Trump told reporters Thursday that Washington was still “very unhappy with Venezuela,” but he called the allegations “false.”
His remarks were in reaction to a Wall Street Journal report that was released earlier that day and claimed that US Air Force B-1 bombers had been flown close to Venezuelan airspace.
Regarding the report, neither the Pentagon nor the White House have released any additional statements.
