Senator Ted Cruz of the United States urges Congress to enact his Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act in order to punish authorities who are suspected of violating human rights.
Senator Ted Cruz of the United States has redoubled his efforts to hold Nigerian officials accountable for their complicity in religious persecution through legislation.
Cruz stated in a message on his official X Twitter, “Enough is enough. In order to hold Nigerian officials accountable for these crimes, Congress ought to enact the Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act.
The proposed measure, which the Texas member has supported in past legislative sessions, aims to punish specific persons and organizations proven to be accountable for religious freedom breaches in Nigeria.
Cruz’s new appeal follows mounting alarm among US legislators and human rights activists over alleged government inaction and violence on worshippers in some regions of Nigeria.
