The US cancels the visas of foreign nationals who celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk
The US State Department cancels the visas of a number of foreigners for celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
A number of foreign citizens whose visas were revoked by the United States publicly praised the assassination of conservative activist and pundit Charlie Kirk.
The US Department of State said in a post on its official X handle that it had “no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans” and that it still identifies visa holders who made “heinous” comments condemning Kirk’s death.
Six residents of Argentina, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, and Paraguay had their visas canceled, the statement said, for making offensive remarks on the internet.
Each case was highlighted by the department, which before verifying the action taken named the nationality of persons involved and quoted their comments.
According to reports, an Argentinean claimed that Kirk “deserves to burn in hell” and “devoted his entire life spreading racist, xenophobic, misogynistic rhetoric.” Just “Visa revoked” was reported by the department.
“They’re hurt that the racist rally ended in attempted martyrdom,” a South African apparently said, mocking Americans who were grieving for Kirk’s passing. The person also allegedly said that “he was used to astroturf a movement of white nationalist trailer trash.” It was the same answer: “Visa revoked.”
In a similar vein, a Mexican citizen who claimed that Kirk “died being a racist, he died being a misogynist” and asserted that “there are people who deserve to die” also had their visa withheld.
A German national defended the murder by stating, “when fascists die, democrats don’t complain,” while a Brazilian national accused Kirk of being connected to a “Nazi rally” and said he “DIED TOO LATE,” the department added. The nation took both from its list of visas.
Kirk’s visa was revoked for a Paraguayan national who referred to him as “a son of a b****” and claimed that he “died by his own rules.”
President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio “will defend our borders, our culture, and our citizens by enforcing our immigration laws,” the State Department underscored in its post’s conclusion. “Aliens who take advantage of America’s hospitality while celebrating the assassination of our citizens will be removed.”
This action demonstrates Washington’s increasing position on stricter visa requirements for foreign nationals who are found to be supporting violent crimes against Americans or engaged in hate speech.
