Alex Jones’ appeal is dismissed by the Supreme Court as worth $1.4 billion. Stands for Sandy Hook Judgment

The Infowars host’s battle over the major defamation case connected to the Sandy Hook tragedy has now come to a standstill.

Alex Jones’ last attempt to get the massive $1.4 billion defamation judgment against him overturned has been officially halted by the U.S. Supreme Court.

His appeal was denied by the courts, upholding the lower court’s ruling and validating one of the biggest defamation verdicts in American history.

Jones’ repeated fabrications on the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, which claimed the lives of 20 students and six teachers, are the basis for the case. Jones fabricated allegations that the bereaved parents were “crisis actors” and that the massacre was staged. The victims’ families filed a lawsuit, claiming that his remarks stoked years of emotional suffering and harassment.

Jones claimed that he was not given a fair trial and that his First Amendment rights had been infringed. The Supreme Court rejected his arguments and disagreed.

The families can now proceed with their attempts to collect the substantial reward in light of that ruling. A receiver has already been appointed by the judge to start liquidating Jones’ media business Infowars’ assets in order to assist pay off his debt.

Approximately $1.4 billion was awarded in the initial verdict, which included $964 million in compensatory damages and an additional $473 million in punitive penalties. With that sum, it is among the biggest defamation rulings in American history.

Jones made money for years by using his internet platforms to market supplements and disseminate conspiracy theories. His financial empire might now be dissolved piece by piece as a result of the verdict.
