The UK’s most recent aid package for Gaza included $27 million
Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced Sunday that Britain will provide 20 million pounds ($27 million) to support water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities in Gaza as part of a global leaders’ forum on conflict resolution in Egypt.
According to Britain, the money would be distributed through the Norwegian Refugee Council, UNICEF, and the World Food Programme and was intended to help people who are suffering from sickness, starvation, and malnutrition.
As part of the first step of an agreement to end the war after two years, Israel and Hamas held a truce in Gaza for the third day on Sunday.
International government authorities, members of the business sector, and representatives of development finance organizations, such as the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, will attend a three-day summit on Gaza reconstruction, Britain announced.
Palestine, which it formally recognized as a state last month, has received 74 million pounds in humanitarian aid this fiscal year, according to Britain.
