Kagame gives more than 600 RDF officers promotions
President Paul Kagame has elevated 632 military officers from second lieutenants to lieutenants.
The advancements are effective immediately, according to a statement released by the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) on October 4.
The President of the Republic of Rwanda and the Commander-in-Chief of the RDF have promoted 632 officers who were scheduled to be promoted from the rank of Second Lieutenant to Lieutenant. The release stated, “The promotion is effective immediately,”
The promotion follows the commissioning and promotion of 1,029 officer cadets to the rank of Second Lieutenant at the Rwanda Military Academy in Gako, Bugesera District, after they successfully completed the 12th intake of Officer Basic Training.
At the September 3 commissioning event, President Kagame urged the newly commissioned officers to take seriously their duty to protect the nation and its residents.
“I would want to thank each and every one of you for your dedication and tenacity throughout the rigorous training you have already finished. He said, “I also want to thank your trainers for helping to prepare you to do well in the duties you have been assigned.”
He reminded the police that their first goal is to ensure the peace and security of Rwanda.
“You must fulfill your obligation to safeguard Rwanda and Rwandans in a proper manner. You must fully understand this responsibility. You have an obligation to protect the country against those who would do it damage. “We want peace,” he emphasized again.
Thirty-one years after its liberation, President Kagame added, Rwanda is still fighting to rebuild and strengthen its security and peace foundations, a goal that he said requires the collaboration of all Rwandans.
He also underlined the necessity for adaptability, self-control, and strength because the world is constantly changing and presenting new challenges.
“The world is changing all the time. Issues are ever-evolving. To prepare for triumph, you must stay on course and capitalize on these challenges,” he said.
