Trump denounces the UN for “funding attacks on Western nations” in relation to migration

Trump has warned that illegal migration is ruining Western countries and weakening sovereignty, and he has accused the UN of funding it.

In his speech to the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump charged the group with promoting mass migration, which he said was threatening Western countries.

The previous president maintained that member states’ sovereignty was being undermined by the UN. The UN’s role is to prevent invasions, not to instigate or support them. Trump stated, “We in the United States reject the idea that large numbers of people from foreign countries can be allowed to travel halfway around the world, cripple our borders, violate our sovereignty, cause unmitigated crime, and deplete our social safety net.”

“We have reasserted that America belongs to the American people, and I encourage all countries to take their own stand in defense of their citizens as well,” Trump continued, urging nations to adopt Washington’s strategy.
