Putin and Xi are seen discussing organ transplants and immortality on a hot mic during the Beijing Parade

During Beijing’s Victory Day parade, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin were heard discussing immortality and organ transplants.

During an unguarded conversation on the sidelines of a military parade in Beijing, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping were caught talking about the potential of immortality and even organ transplants.

A video of the meeting showed Xi and Putin strolling into Tiananmen Square together, accompanied by Kim Jong Un of North Korea, as part of China’s Victory Day celebrations commemorating the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of World War Two.

“It used to be uncommon for someone to be older than 70 and these days they say that at 70 one’s still a child,” Xi’s Russian-speaking interpreter was heard saying.

“With the development of biotechnology, human organs can be continuously transplanted, and people can live younger and younger, and even achieve immortality,” Putin said after making an inaudible remark, which was followed by his Mandarin interpreter.

“Predictions are that there is a chance of also living to 150 years old this century,” said Xi’s translator.

In subsequent public statements to Russian media, Putin reiterated the topic. He was quoted by state news agency Tass as saying: “Humanity can hope for an active life to extend longer than it does today thanks to modern recovery procedures, medical methods, and even surgical methods dealing with the replacement of organs. While the average age varies each nation, life expectancy will rise dramatically.

Standing side by side with the leaders of North Korea and Russia, Xi used the parade to present a different vision of global governance, while their private discussion suggested goals that went beyond politics and the economy.

“The world faces a choice between peace and war,” Xi said to the gathered throng as China showed a massive arsenal that included nuclear missiles that could reach every country in the world.

Xi, Putin, and Kim made their first public appearance together at the ceremony, which some experts interpreted as a direct message to Western countries that had rejected them. Twenty-four other foreign leaders accompanied Putin and Kim, including Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa, Vietnam’s Luong Cuong, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The event further highlighted China’s efforts to counterbalance the United States since the tariff period of Donald Trump. Trump charged Xi on Wednesday with plotting against Washington with North Korea and Russia. “Please give my warmest regards to Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin as you conspire against the United States of America,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.
