Google is partially unavailable in Turkey and parts of Europe
Government and watchdog sources have confirmed that Google has suffered partial disruptions in Turkey and other regions of Europe.
A local internet watchdog and the Turkish deputy minister for telecoms said Thursday that YouTube and other Google services were unavailable in Turkey and portions of Europe.
According to the Freedom of Expression Association, which monitors online censorship in Turkey, Alphabet’s Google outage started at roughly 10:00 a.m. local time (07:00 GMT) in Turkey.
On X, Turkey’s deputy minister of cybersecurity, Omer Fatih Sayan, stated that the local cybersecurity body has asked Google for a technical report on the disruption. Sayan shared a map showing that the outage impacted regions of Ukraine, Russia, western Europe, Turkey, and much of southeastern Europe.
