Algeria’s president fires the prime minister and names a new acting premier, according to state media
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune fired Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui on Thursday and put Sifi Ghrieb, Minister of Industry, in charge of the government temporarily, according to state media.
The former diplomat Larbaoui was made prime minister by Tebboune in 2023. The state media didn’t say why Larbaoui was leaving.

In the past few years, the North African country that produces gas and provides energy to several European countries has been seen as politically safe.
