“Indian-Sponsored” Militants Killed While Crossing From Afghanistan, Pakistani Military Says

The Pakistani military claims to have retrieved explosives and weapons and killed “Indian-sponsored” insurgents fleeing Afghanistan.

The Pakistani military declared on Friday that it has captured and killed a number of militants who were trying to enter the nation overnight from Afghanistan, calling them “Indian-sponsored.”

The military’s public relations department claims that throughout the operation, the fighters were subjected to “precise” fire, and that weapons, ammo, and explosives were recovered.

India and Pakistan, two neighbors with nuclear weapons and a long history of conflict, are regularly accused of harboring or supporting rebels. India disputes Islamabad’s persistent accusations that New Delhi is funding insurgent operations within Pakistan.

With security forces on both sides keeping close watch along their own borders, tensions between the two nations are still high.
