Tourists, students, and business travelers may soon have to pay $250 to enter the United States
A new law may increase the cost of travel to the United States for some foreign visitors.
It may soon be necessary for foreign visitors to the US to factor in a bit more money. A $250 “visa integrity fee” may be required of visitors, students, and business travelers from nations that require a non-immigrant visa simply to enter the country under a new bill signed by Donald Trump.
Details released by the Envoy Global law firm indicate that the price will only affect tourists who need to apply for a visa prior to their trip. The policy is anticipated to go into effect shortly, though there isn’t an official start date yet.
To reflect inflation, the $250 admission fee may increase in 2026, which would result in further increases in the cost of traveling to the United States. The ultimate determination of the cost to travelers upon the implementation of the regulation will be supervised by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
For the time being, visitors are encouraged to keep an eye out for changes, since the price may end up being yet another substantial expense for foreign students, tourists, and companies organizing trips to the United States.
