Trump criticizes Rosie O’Donnell and proposes depriving her of her citizenship due to a political dispute
Trump Attacks Comedian After Relocating to Ireland
Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump’s animosity is intensifying once more. This time, Trump claimed he was “seriously considering” removing O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship and called her a “threat to humanity” on Truth Social.
Trump wrote on Saturday, “I am seriously considering taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship because she is not in the best interests of our Great Country.” “If they want her, she should stay in the beautiful country of Ireland because she poses a threat to humanity.” “God bless America!”
O’Donnell, who has long been an outspoken opponent of Trump, relocated to Ireland earlier this year, citing safety fears and political unrest. She didn’t hold back when she responded on Instagram. She wrote, “I stand in direct opposition [of] all he represents.” “Millions of others do, too.” She called him a “liar who engages in sexual abuse,” a “criminal,” and a “con man.”
Their notorious back and forth began in 2006 when O’Donnell attacked Trump for standing up for Tara Conner, who was then Miss USA. In response, Trump referred to her as “a very unattractive person, both inside and out.”
O’Donnell has persisted in speaking out, claiming that her wellbeing has improved since moving to Ireland. “Watching what’s going on politically has been heartbreaking. She said on TikTok, “I’m sleeping better.”
This most recent interaction is political as well as personal. Foreign-born activists have been the focus of the Trump administration’s latest crackdown, which it has justified as a national security precaution.
But citizenship being revoked for criticism? It’s unprecedented, even for Trump.
