Chelsea and Sporting agree to sign Quenda and Essugo, two promising players
Sporting Lisbon reported on Wednesday that Chelsea has reached an agreement to sign Dario Essugo and Geovany Quenda in a joint deal worth up to 74.4 million euros ($81.15 million).
After being tutored by Ruben Amorim at Sporting, the 17-year-old Quenda drew interest from Manchester United. The Premier League team has agreed to pay up to 52 million euros, including variable components, for the player.
In 2026, the Guinea-Bissau winger, who turns 18 in April, will sign with Chelsea.
For a set price of 22.2 million euros, the 20-year-old Essugo, who is presently on loan with Las Palmas of La Liga, will join the London team in the summer.
In 2021, at the age of 16, the Portuguese made his professional debut, becoming Sporting’s youngest player.
