Botswana’s finance minister says the country’s economy will grow 3.3% in 2025
Finance Minister Ndaba Gaolathe said on Monday that Botswana’s economy will grow by 3.3% in 2025 because the world diamond market is likely to get better.
It is thought that Botswana’s economy shrank by 3.1% last year, Gaolathe said in a budget speech. This is more than the 1.7% drop that the government predicted in December.
“This growth outlook is premised on recovery of the diamond industry, which is expected in the latter part of 2025 and continued positive sentiment in the non-diamond mining sectors,” he added.
