Kagame and the president of Senegal spoke about security and bilateral relations

Speaking with his Senegalese counterpart Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Saturday, February 1, President Paul Kagame covered bilateral relations as well as regional and global security.

The president stated in an X post that he had a productive discussion with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye about the significance of continental cooperation in finding a long-term solution to the security crisis in the area and beyond.

“For the mutual prosperity of our people, Rwanda looks forward to continued bilateral cooperation with Senegal,” he stated.

Senegal and Rwanda have a number of agreements in a number of areas, including broadcasting, where Radio Television Senegal (RTS) and Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) have cooperated.

The two leaders had already met in May of last year when they went to a game between Rwanda’s APR Basketball Club and Senegal’s AS Douanes in Dakar as part of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
