Chad’s presidential complex was attacked, killing 19 people
Gunmen stormed Chad’s presidential complex Wednesday evening, killing up to 18 attackers and one soldier, according to government sources.
On national television, government spokesman and Foreign Minister Abderaman Koulamallah stated that three soldiers and six attackers were among the wounded.
The attack was “probably not” carried out by the terror group Boko Haram, as the foreign minister later told reporters, identifying the attackers as an armed group from a district in the capital of Chad, N’Djamena.
“There was no need to panic because the security situation is now under control,” Koulamallah stated.
