Shenseea’s performance at Raha Fest was shortened as a result of chaos and tears
The New Year’s Eve edition of Raha Fest, which was held at Uhuru Gardens, was abruptly concluded due to the event’s descent into pandemonium.
This occurred after police were compelled to intervene, and they fired tear gas multiple times to disperse unruly audiences that were attempting to gain unauthorized entry to the event, which was headlined by Shenseea from Jamaica and Ali Kiba from Tanzania.
Ali Kiba’s captivating performance was regrettably interrupted by the teargas, necessitating a fleeting exit from the stage. Nevertheless, he was able to recommence and finish his set.

Shenseea, the night’s centerpiece, was considerably less fortunate. Her inaugural performance in Kenya was regrettably cut short after only ten minutes, as she was promptly escorted to safety as a result of the teargas being in close proximity to the stage.
Revellers took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the concert’s insecurity, the searing effects of teargas, and the lack of value for their money.
The previous performances of Kenyan performers Ndovu Kuu, Lil Maina, FatherMoh, and Ugandan artist Joshua Baraka proceeded without any complications.
This unfortunate turn of events left a substantial blemish on what was otherwise expected to be a memorable celebration to herald in the new year.
