Sead Ramovic: Yanga needs to convert his home form into Champions League success

Sead Ramovic, the coach of the Young Africans, has challenged his squad to adapt their domestic performance into the CAF Champions League in advance of a crucial continental match this weekend.

Yanga defeated Singida Big Stars 5-0 on Sunday, December 29, to wrap up their 2024 Tanzanian Premier League play. They now trail leaders and bitter rivals Simba SC by with one point.

Yanga’s domestic accomplishments have been impressive, but they have struggled on the European scene. After losing their first three games, they are currently in last place in Group A of the Champions League.

In order to have any chance of making it to the quarterfinals, Young Africans must defeat TP Mazembe in their matchup on Saturday in Dar es Salaam.

“To convert our performance into the CAF Champions League, we are putting a lot of effort into it. According to The Guardian, Ramovic stated, “There is a learning curve, but we are committed to getting better.”

Ramovic praised Yanga’s tenacity and grit despite their harsh schedule, which saw them play four games in ten days.

Imagine engaging in this level of intense play for four games in 10 days. The German remarked, “What a team effort, what outstanding characters we have in our squad.”

“These players and this lovely team truly show their dedication to this club, and I am honored to be their head coach.”

Ramovic also gave the team’s supporters credit, saying, “These kinds of supporters, they pushed us.” The team will need them again on Saturday when they visit the Ravens. We would like to express our gratitude.

“It’s about the intensity and getting the fitness levels I want,” the Yanga chief continued. “It’s not just about the outcomes.” “We want to play rock-and-roll football at a high level of intensity, never letting the opposition breathe.” We are headed in the right direction, but we are not quite there.
