Appeal overturns Norgaard’s red card against Everton
The English Football Association overturned Christian Norgaard’s red card in Wednesday’s 0-0 draw between Everton and Brentford. This means that the Danish player will not have to serve a three-match ban.
There were only 10 players left for Brentford in the first half after Norgaard lunged at Everton goalie Jordan Pickford. He was given a red card after a review by the Video Assistant Referee.
Norgaard almost got to a back post ball, but Pickford’s knee was hit by his studs as he tried to stretch.
But Brentford made an appeal, and the FA said he would be able to play in the club’s next three games after a winning claim of unfair dismissal.
The next game for 11th-placed Brentford is on Saturday at home against Leicester City.
