Mexico is ready to take in Mexicans who were removed from the U.S. if they need to
If President-elect Donald Trump starts deporting a lot of illegal immigrants living in the U.S., Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Thursday that her country has a plan to take in those who are sent back from the U.S.
But Sheinbaum said that Mexico would work on a plan to show that people shouldn’t be deported. She didn’t say how that would be done, though.
During her regular morning press conference, Sheinbaum said that her cabinet would be meeting on Thursday to talk about problems like migration, trade, and security that Mexico will face under the new Trump administration.
Trump has promised to remove a lot of people and crack down on immigration as soon as he takes office on January 20.
