Taylor Swift Takes First Place at the 2024 MTV EMAs

At the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) on Sunday, Taylor Swift took home four awards.

The 34-year-old singer, who earlier this year released her eleventh studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” took home the Best Artist, Best Live, Best Video, and Best US Act awards at Manchester’s Co-op Live.

Taylor, who was unable to make it to the awards ceremony in person, posted a video message saying, “Hey guys, it’s Taylor.” I am traveling from the Eras Tour to you. Although I’m really sorry I can’t join you tonight, I want to thank you for these wonderful honors.

It’s so incredible that you honored the tour, the record this year, and the video. Post Malone was the most incredible co-star in the “Fortnight” music video, and for that I am incredibly grateful.

“Thank you to the fans who cast their votes. Every day, I am reminded that you are the reason for all of my wonderful experiences. This is so amazing and fantastic, and I’m very grateful for it.

“This is fantastic for you to do, as I had the best time touring in Europe this summer.”

In other news, Tyla took home the Best R&B and Best Afrobeats honors that evening.

The 22-year-old star’s self-titled first album was published earlier this year, and she recently won two more accolades in Manchester to add to her impressive list of accomplishments.

Eminem, who took home the Best Hip-Hop trophy, and Ariana Grande, who took home the Best Pop gong, were two other well-known winners.

Rap superstar Busta Rhymes accepted the Global Icon award, saying he was overjoyed to earn an MTV gong for the “first time” in his career.

He stated: “This is the first time I’ve received an award from MTV in my thirty-four years of professionally recording.” It feels f amazing.

In the meantime, Liam Gallagher, who grew up in Manchester, received the Best Rock prize.

Rita Ora, who hosted the event, gave a heartfelt homage to Liam Payne, the former member of One Direction who passed away in October at the age of thirty-one.
