McKennie and Pulisic return to the US squad for the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Nations League

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino revealed his 25-player training camp, and captain Christian Pulisic and midfielder Weston McKennie have rejoined the U.S. squad for the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal game against Jamaica.

McKennie and Pulisic, who play for Juventus and AC Milan in Italy, respectively, were not present for last month’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Mexico. Pochettino’s first formal competitive games since taking over as U.S. coach in September will include the two games versus Jamaica as the main attractions.

Tim Weah, a forward who was sent off against Panama in the Copa America in June, is also back in the squad but will serve the second game of his two-match suspension during the first leg against Jamaica.

Tyler Adams, a midfielder who has battled injuries, was one of the team’s noticeable absences, although Pochettino stated that the 25-year-old was crucial to the team’s future.

“At this point, observing Adams’ development is crucial. We are well aware that in order to have him in peak form for the 2026 World Cup, we must take good care of him. Building that relationship is vital, in my opinion,” Pochettino told reporters on Sunday.

Seeking a fourth consecutive Concacaf Nations League championship, the United States will travel to Jamaica on Thursday before playing the Caribbean team in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 18.
