Burna Boy, Tems, Rema, Yemi Alade, and other artists have been nominated for 2025 Grammy Awards

Nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards have been made public, and once again, Nigerian artists and Afrobeats acts like Burna Boy, Davido, Tems, and Yemi Alade have been nominated.

For the second year in a row, the Grammy’s Best African Music Performance category is getting a lot of attention.

Yemi Alade’s first-ever solo Grammy nominee in the Best African Music Performance category is for her song “Tomorrow.” This is a big deal in her career.

Burna Boy, who won a Grammy, is up for this award for his song “Higher” from the record “I Told Them.” This is his second mention in a row, which shows how important he is to the music world around the world.

Davido is a name that people know from the Grammy stage. Davido and Lojay were both nominated for awards for their roles on Chris Brown’s song “Sensational,” which also features the up-and-coming Nigerian singer Lojay. Davido has won this award twice before, but this is a big deal because it’s Lojay’s first Grammy.

Tems is still making moves; her song “Love Me Jeje” is nominated for Best African Music Performance, and her first album, “Born in the Wild,” is nominated for Best Global Music Album. There is also a Best R&B Song nomination for Tems’ song “Burning,” which is a standout from the same record. She is unique because she is the only African artist nominated in more than one category this year.
