In Uganda, ten dead were found following the explosion of a fuel truck
According to a Reuters witness, ten dead were found at the scene of a petrol truck explosion in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, on Tuesday.
According to the police, “several people may have lost their lives, while others have been injured” when the tanker capsized at about 1500 local time (1200 GMT).
According to authorities, the event happened on a route that connects Kampala with the northern city of Gulu, in the area of Kigoowa on the city’s northern borders.
Social networking site X shared videos of the petrol tanker lying on its side while locals hurried over to siphon off fuel using jerry cans.
Other footage showed smoke rising into the air as a massive firestorm burned the tanker and surrounding homes.
