Ahmed Musa talks about “leaving the Super Eagles”
Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, has addressed reports that he is no longer serving for his country.
In the seven games that Nigeria played in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where the team ended as runners-up, Musa did not play.
The last time the former forward for Leicester began a match for his country was in a 2021 World Cup qualifying match against Cape Verde. He contributed 67 minutes to a 2-0 triumph.
In a friendly match against Guinea in January, he made a brief appearance lasting seven minutes.
Musa has also been without a club since Sivasspor in Turkey terminated his contract in February.
But Musa explained, saying, “I only took a little break from the national team,” in an interview with media following a friendly game he organized.
But I stayed on the team.
