(This story from May 28 has been revised to eliminate the headline’s repeated use of the word Sudan.)
In a discussion on Tuesday, Sudanese Armed Forces General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken talked about the pressing need to put an end to the fighting in Sudan, according to the State Department.
According to the statement, the two also talked about how to “enable unhindered humanitarian access, including cross border and cross line, to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.”
