Czech President discharged from hospital following motorcycle accident
According to his office, Czech President Petr Pavel was discharged from the hospital on Friday following a minor motorcycle accident on Thursday.
“His schedule for the next week remains in place, including a planned foreign trip,” added the statement.
Next week, Pavel is expected to travel to Jordan and attend the NATO foreign ministers’ conference in Prague.
“The injury was caused by a fall from a motorcycle at low speed, during a riding practice in terrain on a closed circuit,” according to the office.
Pavel’s injuries were not made clear by the office.
Since his election last year, Pavel, a 62-year-old former chief of staff of the Czech army and head of NATO’s military committee, has continued to ride a motorcycle for fun.
