Ohio governor announces state of emergency

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has announced a state of emergency in eleven counties Sunday in the aftermath of severe storms that hit the state last week.

The governor also initiated the Ohio National Guard to assist clean up remains in Logan County, one of the intense hit areas, where three people were killed by the storms.

The statement commands all related state departments and agencies to provide their services, equipment, supplies, and workforce to support in response and recovery efforts, the governor’s office stated.

The severe weather also damaged portions of Kentucky, Indiana and Arkansas. About forty people were wounded and tons of houses damaged in one Indiana neighborhood. Tornadoes were also reported in Illinois and Missouri.
