President Kagame Requests for Replacement from Within RPF Inkotanyi
In Kigali, on March 9, 2024, President Paul Kagame, also serving as the Chairman of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) Inkotanyi, speaking to over 2,000 delegates during the party’s conference. The meeting, which re-nominated him as the party’s representative for the approaching presidential elections in July 2024 with a 99.1% vote, served as a platform for an important statement.
Kagame insisted RPF Inkotanyi representatives to initiate the pursuit for his replacement, point up the significance of preparation and self-initiative in this vital transition. Regardless of accepting to run for the approaching election, he stressed that the obligation of selecting his replacement should not fall on him but on the party members.
