African Union to provide logistics, financial aid to SADC troops in Congo
The African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council on March 9th 2024 endorsed the deployment of external troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), prevailing protestations from Rwanda, which saw collaboration for them as a threat.
The Southern African Development Community Mission (SAMIDRC) was deployed on December 15th of 2023. Following the validation, the African Union Commission is needed to provide required logistical and financial support to the mission.
